Fullarton Parish Church, Irvine, Scotland

On the south west coast of Scotland, near Glasgow lies the large town of Irvine (45,000 people). Decades ago Irvine served Scotland as its third largest harbour. Today, only yachts and pleasure boats enter the scenic harbour and small factories and businesses provide some (though not enough) employment for people of Irvine.  At Fullarton Church of Scotland (Presbyterian), we aim to be a loving family who support one another and reach out with God's love to people of our area. Our Vision Statement describes what we are about, “Together, to share the love of Jesus, through prayer, worship, learning and example; reaching out to our community and beyond, with a vision for the future.”

Neil Urquhart, our pastor for the last 16 years pastor urges and inspires us (from God’s Word, the Bible) to become a seasoning and enlightening influence in our daily world, to share God’s Love in down to earth ways. Wherever Christians are during the week is where the church must be, ‘A Church without Walls’. The ‘World without Walls’ Project is very much in keeping with our desire to connect with God’s wider World as well as locally.

Dr Betty Cowan OBE (now in her late 80’s) worked for many years as a medical doctor and lecturer in Ludhiana Medical Hospital & College, North India. Betty is a dear member of our faith community and through her we have supported the wonderful work done in the Punjab, among some of the most underprivileged people of the world. With a view to continuing our partnership with God’s Work in North India, we started a lively link with New Life Christian Fellowship, Ludhiana.

We are excited about ‘World without Walls’ and look forward to learning from and supporting each other through this film media project.
