Kirkmichael, Tinwald and Torthorwald Church

This project is based in Dumfries, Scotland.

The united parishes of Kirkmichael, Tinwald and Torthorwald lie at the south-eastern end of beautiful Nithsdale, just east of Dumfries in South West Scotland. The parish is largely rural, with a scattering of small villages. Kirkmichael church is set in the midst of Ae Valley. Tinwald church is nestling in the side of Tinwald Hill and visible from the A701 road. Torthorwald church stands on rising ground at the edge of the village, with an extensive view over Dumfries and the Nith Valley.

Our partner church is St Andrews Presbyterian Church in Pretoria, South Africa. Since 2002 we have been involved in a school, Inkuleleku, supported by St Andrews Church. Through our involvement, some of our primary schools in the Parish are now linked with schools in Pretoria. We appreciate this partnership and are delighted with the structure provided by World without Walls, which enables us to exchange video diaries.
