At South Leith Parish Church we are a diverse group of
people - young and old, creative, musical, practical, single, divorced, with
partners, married, Scottish, English, African, Irish, employed, unemployed,
caring, traditional and contemporary.
Together we live out our faith, making space for variety in what we do,
how we worship and in the ways we serve and care for the community.
Worship is at the heart of who we are. We offer people many different ways to
explore their Spirituality, to unpack the writings in the Bible, and to think
about how faith can shape life.
We hold that love is the heart of the Christian
belief. Love for others, for God and for the creation. We believe church is all about
relationships and together we want to offer ways for people to share and grow
together in a relaxed and welcoming setting.
We also work
hard to serve the wider community here in Leith through our homeless peopleÕs
breakfast, lunch club, community cafˇ and Saturday coffee mornings. As an Eco and Fairtrade church we also
aim to play our part in taking care of the global community too.
Through the
generosity of our members we are able to support a wide range of initiatives
throughout the world. Our main project is supporting Chipembi school in Zambia.
Since 1998 we have been working together with the staff and pupils there to
build sustainability in food production and support the development of
educational opportunities.
