WwW  has two ambassadors

Over the course of the next fourteen months Erica and Lorna, our travelling ambassadors, will be visiting some of our overseas partners. The purpose of the trip is to unite churches around the world using means avaliable to us today: film, media and the internet in order to expose the awesome way that God is moving. Throughout the mission the girls will work with local churches serving in whatever they can. The projects will be filmed and the footage will then be used to make short films enabling the church worldwide to share in their global perspective of God´s work. Their travel itinerary is available here. If you would like to get in touch with the girls so that they can visit your congregation please email us ASAP. We shall keep you posted via their blog as the team progresses through their travels.

Soup and Sweet Lunch
@ Holy Trinity

__________________________________

Sunday past was Holy Trinity`s Harvest Thanksgiving service at the church and part of the giving were `Jars of Grace` which brought in enough money for our commitment to the end of the year of funds for Our Bolivian Project.

After the service members of the congregation were invited to a Soup and Sweet lunch with videos to be shown of the activities of WwW with of course the emphasis on the work of Ronald and Eliseo, some 80 plus people turned up, we had plenty of soup, thanks to Mrs Cruickshanks and plenty of sweet thanks to a group of `sweet makers` in the church.

The minister and his family were in good form and with a great deal of children there it was a wonderful family atmosphere.

After the meal Ron Cruishank was approached by a young student girl, Louise, who has recently spent her gap year in Bolivia and some time in Oruro...more on this later.

The Digistory pilot: Storytelling, children and digital technologies

The WwW team is exploring the interaction between storytelling, children and adults who like to tell and listen to stories and technology with which to record those stories and make them available to a wider community. The WwW sponsored a workshop on Digital storytelling. We were very fortunate in having received the advice of the Scottish Storytelling Centre in developing the workshop and helping us secure the participation of Michael Williams, a storyteller, singer songwriter and peace educator who lead us in storytelling techniques.

Nancy Mwaura from our partner church in Kenya, attended the workshop and tested out her newly acquired skills to an enraptured audience of toddlers.

If you want to listn to Nancy's story, please follow this link to her presentation.

The outcome of the workshop was the agreement of participating churches to pilot-test storytelling within their own organisations and to report back to the WwW team in November.

Our own implementation of storytelling was extremely fruitful.

Children ranging from 5-12 participated in storytelling activities as part of the Digistory Club.

They developed their own storyboards, invented stories, told those stories for an audience and also listened to stories.

Parents were happy for children to participate and in the end we produced a DVD for each of the participating children. This was a great accomplishment since some of the footage was taken by the older children and the video editing was done by one of the WwW volunteers.
